I hesitate to post another pic fic because it will only be a let down to Alex Cabot's Return pic fic. But, after Anchor and after the recent casting news, I had to write *something*. So, here it is. This was actually conceived and mostly written *after* the recent casting news but *before* the MOST recent casting news.
It's got a good amount of snark so, uh, don't read if you don't like snark. And it's very self aware. Also, it's got allll kinds of spoilers for casting so don't read if you don't want to know that, either.
Credits/Notes: some of the references were drawn from TWoP and some from Twitter, but only one or two.

Summary: Slowly, she rose from bed, hunting around for her lounge pants and tank top. Alex stirred slightly and Olivia froze until she’d settled again. The light from outside filtered through the curtains spreading across her lover’s pale skin, and Olivia sighed. She didn’t deserve Alex’s trust, but she couldn’t turn it away either. Not now.

Olivia and Alex are attending a wedding of an old friend. A party is held on a yacht (Alex's I think). Alex is escorted to the party/wedding with a male friend and Olivia thinks Alex is dating the guy. A/O are not together yet and Olivia's friend keeps teasing Olivia about liking Alex. There's a dance scene on the yacht and Olivia's friend has sex with the bride. I think the last chapter ended with Olivia walking a drunk Alex back to the hotel room and Olivia's friend sleeping with the girl Alex used to babysit. Any help is appreciated and Happy New Year. |

Alex had worried then – Olivia had seemed distant and nervous and by the time they reached the party, she’d almost convinced herself that Olivia was working up to the inevitable breakup and she could consider herself lucky to be one of the many on Olivia Benson’s infamous dance card. But looking into her eyes now, she realized she’d been completely wrong. No, Olivia had something else on her mind.
